This week we are talking all about choice…
Today’s rant was inspired by (or more perhaps, enraged by) trying to deal with my teenage step son. To encourage him to take responsibilities for the choices he makes, and learn to deal with the concequences… rather than continually make excuses.
You see, if he’s getting in trouble for something (specifically for not doing something he was supposed to) he always has a million reasons as to why it wasn’t his fault. He never just takes responsibility or says sorry, he always tries to blame something or someone else. It’s enfuriating to say the least.
And so he and I have been having some very serious chats about choice.
You see, everything is a choice.
Sure, there may be lots of logical reasons why you made that choice… sure, there may have been lots of negative ramifications if you didn’t make that choice – but you made the choice.
This applies to every aspect of your business too. It’s all a choice.
So this is where I’m going to be blunt…
If you didn’t get that opt-in finished… it was your choice.
If you didn’t get that course written… it was your choice.
Sure, there may be good reasons why you chose not too, but it was still choice.
I say this with love!! Because I see so many small business owners, responding just like my teenage step-son. Explaining that they didn’t get the things done that they wanted to due to all sorts of factors, but not taking responsibility and owning the fact that it was just because they chose not too.
So this week I’m asking you… what have you been choosing not to do? What have you been avoiding? What have you been making excuses about?
It’s time to stand up and take responsibility.
Big Love

Haha, choice is obviously a great topic this week Jane ๐
Ok – let’s commit to less research and more creating!! You can do it.
Really valid. Choices and consequences.
We define our own destiny through the choices we make each day.
Thanks for sharing Sam.
Thanks Dolores,
It’s so true, and I think we all need a reminder sometimes (myself included!)
