Running Live Workshops

Plus there is a handy template for you down below…

That’s right, there are real people out there, people who are happy to come and sit with you face to face.

In the world of online business and online training, I think some people forget the sheer power of having someone physically in the room with you.

Namely, there is someone there. You get facial expressions, body language and you can see someone get the concept you are delivering.

This is where face to face workshops, events and training sessions come into their own.

So if you have been building all of your own content, have you considered putting into a face to face format as well?

There are downsides of course… people have to be close enough to come to your sessions or at least willing to travel to you, but despite that face to face sessions can be used for many things.

1. Lead Generation
By running free (or very low ticket cost, to ensure bums on seats) events to fill your list. This is a great way for people to get to know you, your stuff, your personality.
You can give them some really good content on the day, and then sell them into your next step.

2. Low cost
You can run some low cost events. This is a great way to offer something affordable, while they are still getting great value and getting to know you. You can use this as a platform to sell into higher level programs, or one on one sessions.

3. High Cost
If your low level is online, or self paced learning, then coming and spending a day with you live, either one on one or in a small group, could be your high level offer.
This face to face workshop style allows you to deliver this.

Face to face delivery, is a great form of delivery… it doesn’t matter if you are using it for lead generation or for your high end sales, it’s a great way to give content and build a relationship.

There are some differences between running face to face and online. The person is actually there, in the room with you… and that means it’s vital to build in more points for them to get involved. Get to know them, ask them questions. Give them opportunities to interact, to ask questions, to have a go and try things out. Give them the opportunity to use your support.

So, to make this easier… make sure you download this copy of a session plan template, perfect for running face to face sessions.

  1. Coincidence! Last week a colleague and I decided to run workshops for a 6 month period to see how they go! Online is great, but as you say, that interaction is also great – the ability to answer questions there and then, the humour, the storytelling is all different when face to face.
