It’s dangerous and contagious… it’s perfectionism.
Perfectionism is the killer to progress in anything.I’ve heard it many times…
“It’s just not quite ready yet”
“I just need to fix this last bit”
“I want to test it again”
“I want to add more to it”
Now, don’t get me wrong here… I’m all for releasing a killer course, that is accurate and functioning and looks great…
BUT
It will never be perfect. NEVER
No matter how many times you tweak and test, there will always be something that comes up once it’s running properly.
And no matter how many months/years you spend perfecting it, you’ll always look back in 3 years time and shake your head and wonder how you released something like that. Your technical skill and knowledge will have increased 10 fold.
You see, it will never be perfect….
But it will be ready. Ready to release to the world, ready to share, and ready to sell.
This week it’s time to take a look at what you’ve been putting off because it wasn’t perfect yet.
Maybe it’s the first module of your course, maybe it’s your webinar, maybe it’s your next blog post… maybe it’s recording a video for your website.
Even the best of the best never got it right the first time. Carrie from the Female Entrepreneurs Association shared screen shots of her first website recently… She shudders to look at it, and it looks NOTHING like her current branding, and it definitely wasn’t perfect, but it was out in the world, growing her brand and her business.
This week is a week of action, of completely imperfect progress.
Because until you try it out, until you sell it or put it out there, you will never truly know if it is ready or not… there will always be “one more” thing to test or tweak.
So tell me, what are you releasing to the world this week? What is going out there “not quite” perfect, but READY?

It’s so true, and debiliating (is that how you spell it?) The other disease is ‘compare-itis’ – it sucks giant panda balls. So much so, I walked away for my break and haven’t really come back to work yet. I’m loosing my mojo (it’s okay it will come back, it always does :P)
Oh! And have I mentioned I love the Leonie Dawson calender on your wall? … it’s it amazing?
