Life, overwhlem, and everything in between

This week is a little different to normal… firstly, it is a lot more personal, and secondly, it doesn’t include a video (very strange for me, I know).

But, I wanted to take a moment to talk to you about what it means to really be in business for yourself.

You see, even with the current shift towards transparency, “heart centered” businesses, and much more open talk about depression and anxiety, I still feel like our view of the world is very filtered.
Social media means that we only see the parts of someones life that they want us to see, the bits that they have chosen, that fit their strategy.

Vulnerability is now being taught as a business strategy. That is to say, showing that you are “human”, and selectively showing flaws that will make you more approachable to your target market, is something that is actively being promoted at the moment.

That’s not to say this is a bad thing, we are all human, and we do all have flaws…

But, when someone is selectively sharing their story, as part of their business strategy, it is always worth taking everything you see on social media with a grain of salt.

Why am I sharing this with you…

Because recently, I’ve been feeling down. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed, I’ve been feeling isolated and I’ve been feeling very alone.

Let’s be honest, we all know that business has its ups and downs, and this was definitely one of those downs times.
It happened to coincide with being pregnant, and in the middle of buying our first home, so stress levels were through the roof… and none of that helped with my feeling of overwhelm.

But even if this time of increased vulnerability online, sometimes it seems downright scary to just share how you are really feeling.

So today, I want you to take a moment to share in the comments below how you are REALLY feeling.

If you are feeling great, awesome – have a little happy dance below.
But if you are feeling insecure, overwhelmed, or a little lost, that is ok too.

Let’s take a moment to be honest with each other, and share a little bit of what is really going on for us.

And at the end of the day, remember, I am here for you.
And you are more than enough. Xxx
