This week we are talking all things “features”.
Yup, we are talking about the things that you want your site to be able to do, all about the bells and whistles.
What features do you want your membership site to have?
Do you want them to be able to bookmark content?
Do you want them to be able to track what they have completed?
Do you want them to have access to a forum?
Of course, the more features that you have, the more difficult or expensive it could be to build, but at least start with a clear idea of what you would like it do be able to do.
And what does your audience want?
Do they want the forum?
What support do they want?
How and where do they want to access the content?
But…
Make sure it is usable
Don’t feel the need to over fill your site with features.
Sometimes less is more, especially in this case.
It is better to have clear content that is easy to access, and on a site that is clear and easy to use, than it is to have a heap of different bells and whistles.
You don’t want your users to get confused, to get bogged down in options, or to feel so overwhelmed when they log in, that they never come back.
Your Task:
There is no right or wrong here.
Create a list of the features that you want your site to have.
Think about what it needs to be able to do, what your audience wants to be able to do, and features that you love on other websites or membership sites.
