Book One of my 52 books in 52 weeks was “Building the Happiness Centered Business” by Paddi Lund.
Building the Happiness Centered Business isn’t a long or difficult read. Sitting at about 150 pages long, it’s based around the story of the dentist Paddi Lund and his surgery.
After finding out about the surprisingly high number of suicides of dentists and realising that most of his life was spent at work, he knew he needed to do something about being happier at work.
By making his working life happier, that of his team and therefor that of his clients, his business grew, his profits grew and everyone’s lives improved.
Sounds lovely, right?
Paddi doesn’t sugar coat it though. While he gives step by step systems for how and why he implemented changes, he’s the first to say that you’ll have to work hard at this to make change stick.
I finished the book within a day, making notes along the way for things I wanted to implement and improve within my own business.
If you are looking for a practical read, about improving the happiness of yourself and your team, then this is well worth a look.
