Just this week I was asked by someone
“How does everyone make all of their pretty graphics for their website and their social media?”
I’m a firm believer that a great course is all about valuable content, but it also needs to be aesthetically pleasing.
So here are some of the tools that I use on a regular basis:
Picmonkey – http://www.picmonkey.com/
Picmonkey is an online photo editor, that allows you to use a heap of overlays and adaptation tools to edit your images. You can also create images from scratch.
It’s free to use picmonkey and they have a large range of free options available. To use their “royal” features which includes a larger range of texts, images and overlays is just $4.99 a month, or just $33 for the whole year.
Canva – https://www.canva.com/
A great free tool to create images. Canva comes with a range of pre-sized templates, to suit a huge range of social media sites.
It’s free to sign up and create an account with Canva and there are a large range of free options. You can also pay for different templates or stock photos. Paid options are $1 each, so the cost of your image would depend on how many paid options you used.
If you choose not to use any of their paid images, the site is free to use, and it’s free to download your creation.
Power point
Some of the best presentations and videos are still created in power point.
Create your presentation slide by slide. To make it a great learning tool? Use a voice recorder to record yourself talking over the presentation, explaining the points on the slides as you go.
This file is then saved as a video and uploaded (YouTube and Vimeo are your best options here).

If you are an apple user, try Wordswag. I’ve heard great things about it’s ability to create shareable, social media friendly quotes and images very quickly.
