Selling your Course – Episode 7 : Your Sales Page

Let’s talk all things sales page.

Let’s be honest here… I’ve never claimed I’m any good at copy. In fact, quite the opposite.

I’m happy to tell the world that I hate writing… hell, that is why I video weekly training for you, so that I don’t have to write it all down.

But I do know what sells a course.

Now, I’ve seen lots of people talk about sales pages, and while there is no right or wrong, I’m a firm believer in balance.

A balance of features AND benefits, a balance of feeling AND logic, a balance of text AND images.

Your sales page is simply an opportunity to provide them with all of the information they need to make a decision.

Your sales page should include:

A compelling headline

Your audience needs to know exactly what it is and what it does for them. Clever headlines are all well and good, but at the end of the day you want it to be clear and understandable.

Benefits and Features

These 2 are both important, together.
Benefits show the audience how something will help them, how it will save them time or money, how it will automate their business etc.
But when it comes to courses, features are just as important.

Your audience wants to know the ins and outs of the course.
How many videos they get, how many work sheets, how long they get access to the course for… these features are all an important part of their buying decision.

Show the price

My audience likes to know what their in for, and likes me to be honest with them. I know this, and the feedback I get confirms this. They like my down to earth nature, and the fact that I am always up front with them. ”

For this reason, I always include all of my pricing up front.
It’s so potential clients and see what they are in for.

I’ve read many arguments about showing and not showing the price and in the end, you need to make the decision that’s right for you and your audience… but I’m all for just putting it out there.

Be honest

This isn’t about showing your course in the very best light, this is about being honest.
Because if you promise the world and can’t fulfill your promises, you’ll end up with a long list of unhappy customers. This leads to refund requests, but worse still, this leads to bad word of mouth.

At the end of the day, you want to make sure you’ve provided all of the information that your audience needs to make an informed decision, simple as that.
