I have to tell you… it’s ok not to know

It really is ok, I promise you

“I’d love to do XYZ… but I just don’t know how”
“I could never do what you do, I don’t know how to do it”
“I wish I could do YouTube videos/run a webinar/build an online course… but I don’t know how”

I promise you this

It is OK not to know how to do something.

In fact, it’s more than OK, it is perfectly normal.

Most days I start something that I have no idea how to do.
Every time we’ve started a big new project, or brainstormed a new concept, I have no idea how we are going to put it into action or how we are going to get it off the group…

It’s OK not to know.

Call it “Doing a Sam” if it makes you feel better. Commit to something, set a date, tell the world about it… and still have no idea how on earth you are going to do it.

There are lots of ways you can get there
Ask for help, go to good old Google, hire and outsource, get support from a coach…

But don’t let not knowing hold you back.

You can do this.

Just ask.

Sam

  1. First of all I want to say great blog! I had a quick question in which
I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know how you
center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I’ve had difficulty clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.

I do enjoy writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are lost just trying to figure out how to begin.
    Any suggestions or tips? Kudos!

    1. Hi Selina,

Often I just try a brain dump and write down everything I can think of, but in no specific order. So just a jumble of ideas.

Other times I’ve already have planned out a concept while driving or walking, so when I sit down, I know what I am about to do. That makes things much easier.

      I hope that helps ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. I love your videos, they are motivating….really!. I’m working on a huge free information guide on essential oils and hydrosols for aromatherapy and setting up my opt in, my landing page and my call to action and manage to get screwed up in each process frequently, but I’m still at it. Thanks for the kick in the rear.

    1. Aileen ๐Ÿ™‚ You are not alone.
I manage to screw things up on an almost daily basis!

Well done for keeping on keeping on. You’ve got this.

  3. So naturally nice….. that’s what I would like to tell you about your style Sam.
Can’t ever get to understand how to put a link onto my FB page to offer an opt in for a free book. I just don’t seem to get the process. I am looking at mail chimp perhaps thats where it could sit and go out from. I have just achieved a send out to my email list not brilliant but getting there.
    thanks
    Dee
